Benefits of U.S. citizenship
U.S. citizens enjoy all of the following constitutional rights:

In addition, U.S. citizens can be issued a U.S. passport and thereby receive assistance and services from U.S. embassies and consulates when traveling abroad.
Citizenship test
Immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship must pass a test administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This test is designed to ensure that new immigrants hold basic knowledge of U.S. history, the structure of the federal government and their local government, the basic rights of U.S. citizens, and the legal sources of those rights in history. The test also demands some knowledge of integrated civics, including basic geography and U.S. economic and political culture. The citizenship test involves ten questions, six of which must be answered correctly to pass.
While most applicants for U.S. citizenship must pass the citizenship test using English language, there are some exceptions—based upon the applicant age and the amount of time the applicant has been in the U.S.—that allow applicants to take the test in their native language. Our Philadelphia immigration lawyers can assist you with the citizenship application and test process.
