Tom lectured on the present and historic state of human rights in Haiti at the Drexel University School of Public Health. Tom presented along with co-lecturer, Beatrice Lindstrom, an attorney for the Institute of Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). Ms. Lindstrom has led the celebrated case against the United Nations for bringing cholera to Haiti through infected UN troops who have been occupying the beleaguered Caribbean nation since a coup d’etat in 2004.
Tom had published a staggering report of human rights abuses in the aftermath of that 2004 coup. You can find the latest news on Ms. Lindstrom’s and IJDH’s litigation against the UN here and you can find Tom’s 2004 Haiti Human Rights Report here.
